World Chimpanzee Day is celebrated on July 14th yearly to honor our closest living relative in the animal kingdom. World Chimpanzee Day also helps to improve understanding about the uniqueness and innate value as a species through education. It also helps raise awareness and inspire action about threats chimpanzees face in the wild while also advocating for their welfare in captivity.
Join us to celebrate chimpanzees at our first World Chimp Day Event on Friday, July 12th. This educational tour event is an exclusive opportunity to visit our chimpanzee area, as it is not on our regular tour route. You’ll have the chance to meet our 39 chimpanzee residents and hear from some of our chimpanzee caregivers throughout the tour as they share stories about our chimpanzee residents. We’ll start the event with a “chimp talk,” you’ll end your visit by browsing and shopping for one-of-a-kind, limited chimp art and chimp-themed tees. Raffle tickets will be available for purchase for a chance to win an overnight stay in our CGA cabin, a chimpanzee painting experience, or a chimpanzee art piece.
